Ponies don't lie.

What happens to a child when they first stand face-to-face with a horse

The May long weekend. The sun is back for good. The kids are off school — asking what to do. If you've ever wondered whether being around horses is something for your child, this is a good moment to find out.

Ponies don't lie. They don't pretend to listen. They don't say everything is fine when it isn't. They react to your breath, to tension in your body, to the tone of your voice. A child who wants to connect with a pony has to be — whether they want to or not — themselves. Calm. Attentive. Here and now.

That is one of the reasons being around horses does something for children that no gym, swimming pool or sports field can do. It isn't about sport. It's about a relationship with a living being that responds to what you actually feel.

What contact with a pony gives a child

Ask the parents whose children come to the stables regularly. They say similar things: the child is calmer. More patient. They learn that not every situation needs to be solved instantly — that sometimes you have to wait, breathe, trust the process.

A pony demands presence — and rewards that presence. That alone is enough to turn a first contact into a lasting passion.

"Horse riding is the only sport in which the outcome depends on the trust of a living being. Not on equipment. Not on strength. On the relationship."

Our offer — ponies for children

At Sentio Equestrian we offer several forms of contact with our ponies — for children at every stage of their riding journey: introduction to riding, lunge lessons, group lessons, trial lessons and birthday parties at the stable.

A birthday a child won't forget

A room with balloons. A cake. A few games. That's the standard every child knows. Birthdays at Sentio Equestrian look different.

The little birthday girls and boys — together with their guests — spend their time in the stable, with the ponies. They learn how to look after them. They stroke them. They feed them. And then — they ride. Every child, no matter their experience, under the eye of our instructor.

There is no other party after which a child comes home and says: "I want to go back." That is exactly what we hear, again and again, after a birthday at Sentio.
